RPG's Overall Forum Rules:
1. Obviously, no botting or cybering. This is a given.
2. Keep it PG-13. We don't mind violence so much, so long as it isn't TOO explicit.
3. No Godmodding. Unless you are roleplaying Gods. Then I suppose this is acceptable. However, do not roleplay a God in a RP which is not a Gods roleplay. Basically, do not Godmod unless it's a Godmod RP.
4. Please, keep RPG discussion on the minimum. We want more actual roleplaying and less talking about roleplaying, please! *ahem* Catldr24 *cough*
5. Please, write legibly! Fonts as small as the one in my signature are irritating in roleplays. (But not in making a large signature smaller.)
6. Please, keep it up! Dying roleplays are sad. T>T Don't kill 'em, please!
7. Show some respect! Flames are for the Flame Alchemist, you sillies.

Outlining your RPG
Here are some general things to consider when you are creating your Role Play. Ask yourself these questions as you are designing it. Some of these are noted specifically for fan roleplays, which belong in THIS forum.
~NPCs or not?
I think it should be a question if people are allowed to play as characters from the series or if such characters should be locked for NPCs. In the case that they are not, everyone has to figure out and establish who is who, and figure out any disagreements over who is who, etc.
To put this another way, if it is a fan roleplay, if you can roleplay as characters in that series or if they are strictly part of the storyline.

~Narrated, Playscript, and Spoken
Narrated
Narrated is the style of role-play written the same way you would a novel, generally in third person, but sometimes not.

EX:
"There!" she exclaimed boldly, "I shall decieve you." "The window?" someone asked. "No." she said. "Colonel Mustang, I shall not allow this to happen any longer. You will never succeed in creating an army of miniskirted women!" With that she jump-ran through the closed window, with the large and distorted sound of shattered glass, and flew quickly towards the ground.

Playscript
Playscript is written in a way similar to playscript (obviously) In which a character's name is stated like so (name:) and they say what they say. Thoughts tend to be italicized, sound effects tend to be between *asterisks* and decription of things such as setting tend to be put in (parentheses). Generally, it is acceptable to use emoticons in these.

EX:
Roy: I love you!
Ed: O.O;
Havok: Oh, the Colonel fell asleep...
Roy: Riza...
Ed: ... ...
Roy: Please, no more lectures mommy! *zonk*

Spoken
In the case of online RP spoken is RP which consist entirely of dialouge. Whatever a character says is what said roleplayer posts. Generally, in these types of roleplays, profiles are posted and established either prior to begining or in a separate thread, and a gamemaster is established. The gamemaster provides the setting, scenery, and other information that isn't attainable by pure dialouge. Such roleplays tend to be rather intricate.

EX:
User123Flame I confess! I've always loved you, Riza! I never said anything before... because... I've always been afraid to tell you! I was scared of what your reaction might be, but no more! No more lies!

Gunner4Evar Colonel, you're such a fool! Why can't you just say what you feel?! There's no reason to hold it all inside!

~Active or Passive Play?

Active
Truely "Active" RPs are ones in which users may play and respond to eachother almost instantly. Sometimes, this can refer to special events, for example a planned battle in the roleplay to take place on a certain day for a certain length of time, etc.

Passive
These are still "Active" but do not require constant attention and are generally updated every few days or so.

~Godmodding or not?
Godmodding
This is when a certain character has seemingly immortal status, and they cannot be killed, or in many cases, even injured. While in most RPs this is entirely unacceptable, my question is whether or not this would be alright for a character such as a Homunculus, etc., who cannot be easily killed. On that note, when it comes to matters of a character's death, it seems to be common courtesy to discuss it outside of the RP with the user via PM. It should clearly be established in your RP's rules whether this is allowed or not.
